The only way to run 37's that I know is to get a lift kit installed. You would probably be okay with a 4" lift but someone here that has their rig lifted should be able to comment on this. You can run 35's with a stock truck and rims. Just have to crank the torsion bars a bit. Maybe, we can get a comment from some of the people with lifts on their trucks? Or are you guys running 35's and 33's?

I thought you were supposed to have 2x rim size vs tire size right? As in 16 inch rims = 32(33) inch tires? You can really put a 37 tire on a 16 rim? Forgive my ignorance but I would like to put as big a honker on my rims as I can as well.

I'm running 35's on 18 inch rims with just the torsion bars cranked. With the proper lift it probably won't be a problem. The will be a change in your speedo reading. with the 35's I'm really traveling 65 mph when the speedo reads 60. You didn't say whether you plan on sticking with stock rims or going aftermarket. If I had to guess, I would say that my wheels/tires weigh anywhere from 70 to 80 pounds apiece. So, yes you will probably lose some performance. I'm about to install the Gibson cat-back exhaust and a K&N aircharger hoping to regain some of my lost power. So to sum up my experience: The truck is underpowered stock, when you start adding larger tires it really becomes apparent. Unless you want to spend some money to try and regain that lost power ( exhaust system, air intake, PCM reprogram) IMO it would be best to stay with a smaller set-up. In the end, it's all up to the individual. If you decide to do it, please post some pics.
