Wow you have a great dealership then and that is where I'd be going too!!  Mine quoted me something like $100 for the oil change (but I am running syn oil too) I took mine recently to a Mobile quick lube and was in and out in 15 mins and $75.00 & change and the waiting area is right in front of the bay/vehicle where I can see everything that goes on.

Lawwyfe, did you get that rattle fixed (or fix it yourself) in your H3 before your trip?

Poncho, when we lived in Mexico - we tipped for EVERYTHING pretty much too...Everyone who knew us there loved to see us coming - from our favorite restaurants to the maid and gardners as we tipped so well. LOL Things were so cheap there and we always felt so badly for folks who made so little money coupled with the fact that we lived very well compared to most - it just seemed like generosity was the thing.  I think my point was it just seems like everyone has gotten to where they expect tips for every job they do down here just about - even when they are paid fairly well for doing that job!

Nahhh Lil HB I did not have the time to mess with the dealership before I left. I need to get it in soon and have it done. I am just kind of tired of the whole dealership keeping my ride a week at a time every repair and the whole GM thing I guess. I just have a bad taste in my mouth right now that I need to get over lol - good thing I like the darn thing so much!

I would tip them.  Sometimes it's nice to go out of your way for someone to show them your appreciation, and it usually means more to them if you haven't met them before.  that's just me though.

ZYNE, very thoughtful and generous of you to want to do so..with that being said, here is my opinion (and yes I KNOW what they say about opinions!) I get a little tired of the tipping thing. I am not a cheapskate by any means and when I go out I tip at least 20% if service was good. BUT...

The "stealership" charges quite a bit more generally than say going to a quick lube place..so YOU have paid for that mini detail in essence.  My dealer quoted me over $100.00 and I paid $75.00 to the Quick Lube place (yes I stood and watched them actually doing what they were supposed to after hearing the Jiffy Lube story. LOL) AND quite frankly, when I take my car in to the dealership clean and pick it up with greasy hand prints on it in areas they worked on - which I have!..I expect them to clean it!

I just get tired of EVERYONE expecting a tip nowadays when I pay my hardearned $$ out for some of these services already!   Ex: The paper delivery person who sends me the Christmas card with self addressed stamped envelope "in case I want to send a tip" (half the time it isnt delivered when it is supposed to be - and yes I tipped them a few times!) The mail carrier who does the same and screws up my mail delivery EVERY fricken time I do a vacation stop!

at least your husband can't blame the mail man

Strippers........Hire about 30 of them and send them over to entertain the detailers.  Make sure your Hummer is done first.

I gave  the 2 guys who brought my big screen TV up stairs a $30 tip and when I called Sears to tell them what a great job they did carrying a heavy large TV up very narrow, steep stairs. Sears said they were going to fire both of them for accepting a tip. And they were fired despite my pleas.Guess it would not be the same here?

Should have phoned sears back and told them to come back and pck set back up as you were returning it due to idiotic company policy that made you dissatisfied with the product!

I run full Syn too, it's the only thing they will put in it.  And yes, my dealer is awesome ..  When I bought it I got the usual "Post sales" promises and rants about their customer service.  Ironically they have lived up to or exceeded everything they told me back then.  I'm used to the empty promises you normally get so I must admit I'm rather impressed with the fact that they still to this day treat me just as good as they did when I first bought it .....

Hey neighbor :-)  Uh huh, you don't see many folks from our area around here, that's for sure.  Now if we can get a bit of a group together to go out and get the rigs muddy, that would be another step in the right direction LOL!

Yep, I always go to HOC.  By far the closest to me as I live roughly 10 miles from the dealer plus like I've ranted about, their service is top knotch!  I assume you go to the dealer up in .. errr .. BeaverCreek isn't it!?  I can't think of the name but ... Been through there once and wasn't too impressed with them ..... was looking to trade at the time but ended up not doing it ...
