That's absurd! It's a shame when one thinks about all the GOOD things one could do with that kind of money.

Maybe so but without sounding like too much of a dikk here ... if you earned it .. then by gawd you deserve to enjoy it! If that entails burning 15 mill on a car, so be it! Just cuz you have MORE than someeone else doesn't mean they deserve YOUR money ... a little bit too much socialism/communism twist on that one ....

I totally agree we should ALL be able to spend our money as we please, but do seriously hold in contention the point of "if you earned it" . How does an individual "earn" 15+ million dollars. Good investments, luck(lotteries), inheritance, are more good fortune smiling on you, and therefore deserving of a bit of social responsibilty IMO. I don't know too many people who have actually "earned through hard work" that kind of money. Bill Gates has loads of cash, but I would not say that he "earned" it. Even so, he is very generous with his donations to social concerns. For people who have worked hard, absolutley, enjoy the fruits of your labours, but keep in mind that happiness keeps growing that more people you share it with. My .02

Do you have to do something in order to EARN that money!? I have a small savings account for rainy days ..it EARNS interest, so assuming if I didn't do anything to get that money I have no rifht to em!? Social responsibility!? Doode, it's time to wake up and smell the maple nut crunch .. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES are ONLY taken when there's MONEY TO BE MADE FROM THEM! WHY do you think we have so many homeless people in this country for example!? Wake up and smell the waffles man! If there's no money to be made from it .. none will be invested in it ... simple huh .. And we should "ALL" be able to spend our money as we please!? What about people who don't EARN enough to be able to do so!? The guy who actually DOES on the other hand, he should share his EARNINGS with someone else just to reach some sort of level of equality!? WTF!? That's a hell of a way to reward someone for their hard/smart labor, years and years of schooling, etc etc .. F**K em, give his money to the guy with a 9 year education cleaning toilets!? If this is your mentality I still have a partial interest in an appartment over seas where I'm from. I'll sell it to you because your point of views are right out of the socialistic/borderline communistic place I grew up in!!!! And EARNING money ... I'd rather work smart than work hard .... if that earns me millions, why not ...

I'd rather work smart than work hard .... if that earns me millions, why not ... Relax Zyne, this is the kind of topic that has many viewpoints, and clearly has no black and white answers, if there were, we'ed all be in a perfect society, and you more that I should be able to attest to the fact that no society is perfect. Obviously there are all kinds of inequalities amongst people in all societies, financial being one of them. In some cases the gov. system restrict and control people through their financial policies, whereas others encourage free enterprise with the goal of finaincial gain. If finiancial gain is a persons goal in life, then a system that encourages this will be their preference. My goal in life is not finianical gain, but to learn and grow as a person, be free of oppression, learn to understand others, and enjoy life. Some people do not have the oppurtunites that I have had, some due to lack of effort, others by lack of oppurtinuty, others as victims of the system. I am fortunate to be in a position where I can help others, and choose to do so. I feel that as I am a product of the society in which I live, I need to be responsible about helping to support the system that supported me when it breaks down. I may not have clearly communicated my thoughts clearly enough in earlier posts, as on many points you brought up, I totally agree, but still stand by my original post that on a surface level with no other information available, I have an issue with someone spending $15,000,000 dollars on a car. Impressed by their financial ability, yes. Envious, absolutely. Feel inferior for not having that ability myself, never. If you want to have an active discussion about it, I'd love a chance to learn other viewpoints. You seem to have strong feelings regarding certain issues and I honestly would love to hear how/why you have come to these conclusions. If interested, PM me and I'm sure we can find another method to have a great chat!

I'm with the WHY NOT crowd!!! Though I think it's funny that some CORPORATIONS shell out that kind of dough on vehicles as an INVESTMENT!! Whatever!! Unfortunately companies like this make the vehicles ALMOST un-affordable for the RICH COLLECTORS...ALMOST!! Personally if I had that CA$H, I wouldn't blow it on a car. Cause I could buy a bunch of CARS...a couple of Ferrari's and a few Lambos, New House, more Chihuahua's etc.!!!
