ORIGINAL: littlehummerboy Looks like fun! Wish something like that would happen round here but at the moment the only Hummer "Happening" here is me. If the 2 jeeps from yours showed up, I'd be outnumbered! lol

ORIGINAL: jdrew Great pics!!! Whats with the two jeeps following you guys?? Thanks everybody... I was very impressed with this event, as it was extremely well-organized. The two jeeps actually belonged to the event organizers and served as our escorts throughout the entire event. The other half of the event organizers were in Hummers (one group in an H2 and another in an H3). All had two-way radios and one jeep would move ahead of our convoy to ensure that all trails were clear of oncoming vehicles, as well as account for all participating event vehicles (H2s and H3s) and their occupants. Also, the event was entirely documented on camera (possibly video) by several photographers, and the lead jeep would move far ahead of our convoy so that the photographers could find strategic positions to 'shoot film'/'take digital photos of us as we maneuvered the numerous trails and such. I was advised that there were at least five hundred additional photos taken of the event by the official event photographers and that these will be sent to us at some later date. My teenage son took the majority of our digital photos from inside our H2 as I drove, and this was actually the first time that he has taken an interest in photography...let alone used that camera. BTW, the organizers, as well as the participants were all extremely impressed as to how well the Hummers performed...with many being their first 'off-road' driving experience. Many commented with respect to the fact that there are not that many vehicles out there that could undertake such trails, while their occupants enjoyed leather comfort, air conditioning, XM Satellite radio, whilst the rear seat passengers could watch DVDs if they so desired. Trust me, nobody watched DVDs during this trip. Needless to say, I was very pleased with the outcome of the quality of 'shots' that my son was able to produce from his first photographic experience, and I believe that he just might have discovered an additional hobby.
