Shh .. quit SCREAMING!!!  Typing in all caps is considered to be just that :-)

As far as your clear coat goes .. do you live in an area with lots of snow and ultimately road chemicals for combating said snow?!  That should degrade the coat faster but only one winter sounds a little short to me. 
I have chrome stock wheels on my -03 H2 and they are starting to pit pretty good now .. granted they have been on for a while :-)

I think this should be a warranty issue? I would ASSUME they are OEM? Call your HUMMER dealer and ask!!

Are they chrome or aluminum.  If they are aluminum you may want to phone your dealer and ask about technical service bulletin # 990851007 which outline GM's position on this problem.  May give you some ammo.
