Tara....glad to hear Mike is still in good spirits and back at home.  We all hope he gets better soon.  Dennis wants him to get better even sooner so he can clean off the dirty Hummer.  Feel free to come on here anytime and keep us updated.

Hi Tera.  How's Mike today?  Ok first.  They have NEVER seen a patient w/o a pancreas?  WTF!  And they don't have a bed!  What they hell kind of place is that!  As far as the DX being Pancreatitis.   My question is how does one have pancreatitis when they have had their pancreas removed?  It's kinda hard to have an inflamed pancreas when it's not there.   Now be aware that I don't know this case, but colitis, which they ruled out, makes more sense.  They said that his bowels are swollen.  Um... that's what colitis is.  As far as the bladder being swollen.  Maybe.  It sounds to me that there is more going on.  How did they determine this?  What tests have been performed?  What type of Dr. has been attending to Mike?  And as far as sending him home with this.  That's f-ing BS.  I'm pissed.  He need to be in the hospital with a complete workup, not simply someone saying that he has pancreatic inflamation when he has no pancreas.  And that he doesn't have Colitis, but his colon is swollen.  Something isn't adding up.  One thing that does make sense is the TPN IV.   If he does have a bowel obstruction, that is the right way to go.  Did they explain to you how it may be long term?  IM me for a phone number.

Guys, this is Mike....finally got a computer near the bed so I can be a PITA once again.

Thank you all for the well wishes and thoughts...it truly does mean alot.

SD, as far as my condition goes I really have no clue why they continue to call it pancreatitis when I have no pancrease? I've found that odd the last couple times...maybe because I still have a Common byle duct and a pancreatic tail that's enough to cause a "pancreatitis"...I dunno. I had the typical slew of tests done, Endoscopy, colonoscopy,ct scans/nucluear dye ct scans...the whole nine. I don't have a blockage in my bowels but they are very swollen and casuing pain. The hospital that I normally go to don't have any beds...normal for this place, this is the place I sat in the hallway for like 12 hours when I got bit by that black widow spider last summer....chitty er patient care but has an awesome gastro- department. The first time this happened to me I was in the hospital for almost  7 months, then the next time it was 2 months and bieng that this is about my 10th attack I guess they figure they can treat me from home just the same, thats why I am able to go home. Basically they can't do anything till the swelling goes down and thats why I am on a tpn diet with no food for a month, once teh swelling goes down they will probably run more tests to see what cause it all.

Anyway, it's great to be back here with all you guys and gals!!!  Reading your messages really did lift my spirits..thanks you all. And thanks for bieng nice to Tara

Actually, SD was just being nice so he could get her number

We are all glad you are OK.  I got enough to worry about without worrying about not having someone to argue with and worrying about what they will say that worries me.

Welcome home, well, sorta

Good to see you're managing OK.  Bummer that you won;t be able to get out in your new wheels to smoke around like you want, but then it could be worse.

Enjoy this one :

 Mike, you need a shrink

Dennis, the wife took the truck to get washed today...she hates dirt on HER truck

One thing that does suck is now I look at my nice newly purchased dodge ram with 11 inches of lift and wonder....HOW THE HELL AM I GONNA GET IN THAT THING?!?!?!?!

Welcome home Mike.I mean both homes yours and here.
Please don't do anything stupid, lyke moving too much, and take good care of yourself.
You have an awsome and very courageous wife.
keep us posted about the situation, I am sorry to be too far away to visit you....(anyway that's not bad because if people know that you have a FRENCH friend that surely will spoil your reputation)

Yes they usually leave the common bile duct there because the right and left hepatic ducts, which forms the common hepatic duct, joins with the cystic duct to form the bile duct.  Which is why you still have the head of the pancreas.  Take care you two.

Dude, your new truck would make a pretty kick-ass off-road hospital bed.  You'd just have to have your wife build a REALLY LONG ramp so that she could push you in the bed of it, strap you down, and take you on a ride over the Lions Back,  THEN i seriously doubt you would be feeling any pain.  You would probably not have to worry about holding any of that, uh, oh screw it, I'll say it:

You'll SH&T your pants so bad you won't have problems anymore!

There I said it ok? So tell me it was a bad time to say it, c'mon just tell me
