I have a H3 with Lux Package but NO adventure package. I want to install a Yakima roof cage which will add aprrox. 6.5 inches to my roof. Does anybody know if I will be able to clear most parking structures with the cage not hitting? Does anyone know the average height clearance for parking structures? Any help would be appreciated.

Well let's crunch some numbers here...

A standard residential garage door is 84" tall...Factor out 2" for actual clearence when door is open..you have a total useable opening of 82"...

Now then; The H3 at it's highest point on stock suspension is 75"..add your 6.5" for the crab pod..this puts the total height of the H3 at 81.5". Leaving you a grand total of clearence at 1/2 inch. Figuring in a 1% tolerance for error ..Another coat of paint and it won't make it.

Dennis is correct. The average entrance to most parking garages, carwash's, etc. is 7'. I know cause my H2 with the light bar wont even come close to making it in. I can fold down the lights but that is such a pain in the arse.... Oh the sacrifices we must make.
