I have a crack on the drivers side door and the passenger side doors plastic parts on the roof, I read the past post, and they said they should have a replacement in may, my question is, I'm going snowboard in the next couple weeks, should i trust my roof racks to hold my snowboards, and I recently started to hear some noise at freeway speeds, since I found out about this crack, if theirs any info on this before i call my dealer, would want to found out as much info on this as possible, or should I wait till may till they have the replacement parts? Is this going to be cover by my warrenty? Thanks

I would not worry about the snowboards the roof rail is made of metal and it bolts to the roof with 7 bolts that
go through the plastic trim. The trim is only for show it has no structural component to it.

This problem is well known to GM. The replacement parts are scheduled to be available in May - Probably will be a recall. I would let the dealership know you have this problem (I have the same problem and have hotified my dealership). Newer H3s are shipping with the new railings.

And from what I've heard from an inside GM tech..The new Rails are a better fit too...Make sure, as I have done with my delaer..To insist that you get them ALL replaced, not just the cracked ones..This should include the front A pillar parts the tops and the rears as well..The complete set!
