i'm here in TX, so we have a mix of some of the biggest trucks you have seen, and there are priuses (sp?). but if you think about it, it costs just as much to keep a BMW M3 gassed up like ours. they get about 14mpg on premium. we get 12-13mpg on regular. so we are not far behind. they're just jealous pussies

Been flipped off numerous times this winter .. especially when the roads are "bad" and people do 15 mph on the freeway thinking the planet is coming to a cold end ... I usually hold between 55-60 in the same conditions and if I get a reaction it's mostly the one finger salute but also the standard honks and head light flashes ... if you or your vehicle can't handle the conditions, don't bust my balls because I and my vehicle can ...
I've also noticed a few salutes when I pull out of the wooded trails around here .. I guess I'm "hurtin" something for driving on no longer used ranger trails buried in snow and ice ... I think Greek said it best .. it's just jealousy ... but I must admit ... if I had my off road lights ... I'd be givin a lil sumtin' sumtin' back to those !@#$!@#$ flashers ... I have enough problems with night vision without getting blinded by some waterhead thinkin' his opinions of my H2 gives him a freebie ticket to be an a$$

I think it is mainly I SAY AGAIN MAINLY a Left Coast errrr West coast thing. They are the ones passing all the INSANE laws, they are the Liberated Democrats, TAX the Rich (workers) & give it to the POOR (lazy non-workers). They are the ones who want to Tax the AIR you breath, They are the ones who block us from smoking a decent Cohiba (Or whatever) out in the open air--They are the ones who want or have taxed everything that breaths into bankruptcy. They especially like to tax GAS, Cigarettes, Cigars, Liquor, AND if they could, they would Tax, marijuana, Cocaince, morphin AND any other drug they could--Yea, I love the Left coast alrite, nice place to visit (for a VEEERRYY short visit)--Would NOT EVER wanna live there however--Can't afford them--     Plus tree Huggers & I just don't seem to see eye-to-eye-

YH2, though I agree to some extent with you .. you have NO idea how good you have it in the US .. even living out there on the west coast. You should try growing up in a socialistic/communisitic country like I did and we'll start talking about being born free and taxed to death .... Try a TOTAL tax preasure of up in the 70 percentile ... what you describe about parts of the US ... it's a wet dream in comparison to what I got used to when I lived over there. Everything is relative my friend ... and quite frankly you could have it A LOT worse!
And on that note I think I am resigning my resident cynic/government bashing crown to YH2 :-) You're worse than me ... LOL!

y'all can go pi$$ up a rope with all that left coast crap. our governator is the reason you drive a hummer, so you should bow to his thoughtfulness. as for taxing the air and crap like that, it's a measly $25 fine for smoking while standing still in Davis, and it pisses the cops off to no end when you force them to arrest you for it. no jail time, no record (as long as you're polite while being arrested) and the cops have all that paperwork to fill out. i've lived in other countries, on both coasts, and i prefer the "left" coast to any other part of the country. i have more liberties here than most other states, even with the no smoking laws. i can buttf#$% my neighbor legally if i want, how many other states allow that kind of freedom of expression? (i can see the homophobes among us hurling now).
back to the subject, i've been flipped off once, by 2 highschoolers in an import. they almost drove in a ditch when i jerked the wheel in their direction. the trick is to show them that you're not bothered by it, that will piss them off more than anything. i'd like to wave back and toss them a big smile, but nobody flips me off (at least, no strangers do).
