This is a true story...the names have been changed to protect the innocent...no seriously...While training an individual there is a part of a finger print card that has abbreviations that must be used for the government to except the finger print card as a binding document. Under the race it said CC for caucasion, BLK for Black, ASN For Asian and so on...He put AA. When I asked him why he did not put BLK he said he did not like to referred to as Black. I asked him what AA was . He told me African American. I asked him if he was from Africa and he said no. I then said you are American period. He said his ancestors were from Africa so that makes him African American. I said My ancesstors are from Ireland so does that make me an Irish American. He said being Irish is not a race and I said neither is being African. He said you white boys just don't understand. I said that I did not say anything about colour why did you? he told me I was calling him Black. I said no I was not, just that the form being filled out did not have AA as a race abbreviation. Well he said he was not going to change it because he still did not want to be called Black. I told him the Government will reject this document and you will have to pay for another one. He said he did not have to live by the whitey's rules. I said OK...We are waiting to see when they reject it.
