I guess you could say it was slightly related as it can be considered part of an off road survival kit. It is a like new in box Detonics ultra compact 45 auto for a bargain price of $860 - new about $1100.A similar pistol did save the life of myself and my wife when we meet a crazy, armed person in the middle of no where years ago.It is kind of like a Hi-Lift jack, right?

I have photos I can attach to an e-mail but do not know how to post them here. This is a Detonics Combat Master 45 auto all stainless steel ( polished flates)ultra compact (think barrel is about 3 1/4" ) model with a 6 round magazine. It is one of the smallest 45's made. I bought it new in the early 80's and it was hand picked for fit, functioning and accuracy by the owner/founder of Detonics, Sid Woodcock. It was test fired at his factory in Washington for functioning and accuracy, about 150 to 200 rounds, and then stored in VPI paper till last week when I took the photos. It is a collector and should go up in value as it is an early Washington factory model. Detonics is back it business so parts are available but Colt parts will work too. The new Detonics while great high quality arms are not as hand built or fitted as the early ones. It comes in the original factory rug with box, extra mag., sight blades/wrench, extra Pachmyer grips, extra fitted extractor, manual and the original bill of sale. These were the first compact 45's made and were mainly bought by Sp. Ops and other covert types due to its reputation as the best defense weapon out there. Most weapons built like this, such as Wilson Combat's arms go for about $1500.I am selling this for $950 plus $25 shipping to your licensed dealer ( I need a copy of his FFL to give to Fed Ex ). I do not need a license or FFL to ship it here from Arizona. If you take pride in ownership and appreciate real quality you might want to consider this. Unlike most of the current 45's such as Kimber, Springfield, even Colt there are no MIM (metal injection molded) parts in this weapon. There were no cost cutting like that in any way. Having owned at one time or another most of the 45's made I would say this is the best balanced and fastest handling of the lot. It was almost too pretty to shoot and also I was licensed to carry a different weapon all the years I lived in NYC.
