I'm in IT .. I work as a professional scape goat for the 6th largest denfense contractor on the planet ... my job can be summed up as network admin, storage admin, lan/wan engineer, security admin, level III network helpdesk (though I have to deal with I and II most of the time too), managerial aspects as well since our boss thinks drinking coffee and givin' the rest of us sh*t is all he's required to do .. I maintain parts of the budget, shuffle entirely too much paperwork .. ohh wait, that's really not my job BLEH!!! ... anyone wanting to offer me a job that doesn't require me to be on call 24/7 for 6.5 years straight .. for the love of gawd PM me LOL!
I work for someone who's motto is literally "A good boss does nothing" ... I thought I was gunna puke in my soup when I first heard that little nugget of a one liner .. {{shudder}}

Holy crap ZYNE, now I know where my old boss went to work after the palace coup of 2000 ! ! ! !
His name aint Hudak by any chance.......?
My personal hell lasted a bit over 9 years before I was emancipated....I still cringe every time I hear that frakking Nokia default ring tone.

Nope, but sounds like it's his brother LOL! It ain't the Nokia ring tone but I have a similar reaction to the default Blackberry ringtone LOL!

It was 24 X 7 X 365......No holidays......No slack.........No mercy...........
We referred to him as the "Dark Overlord"..........
Oh well, we do what we have to...Rent to pay, bread on the table and all that.....
I learned a lot and it helped me get a better position later on.
And.....His ultimate demise totally reinforced my belief in Karma........
Earl is my hero......

Yep, 24/7x365 .. sounds oddly familiar .. last vacation I took I was left alone a whoppin 3.5 hours .. now, the person who "backs me up" is also my boss and his version is to take the call, then call me without doing a damn thing LOL! Granted, when he does something always gets screwed up cuz he has zero clue what he's doing ... I wish I could be a fly on the wall after I leave .. my gawd I would like that hehehehe .. chaos, mayhem, the demise of the network .. lol .. I've seen it happen before when he "helps" out lol! Sh*t starts droppin' off the wire rather quickly. .. love when he kills of static routes for our site to site connections and then wonder why the phone starts ringing off the hook .. what I wouldn't give to be said fly !!!!! lol!
I prefer just plain ol "Satan" LOL, it's more honest and to the point! Luckily I'm in a spot where I could just up and leave but it's not how I would like to spend said savings/funds. I dunno if I'd wish death on the man or not .. I'd like to think that I'm better than that but ... I could live with the fact that I'm not too soo ... LMAO!!!! If nothing else all his shady crap, the violations etc, will be his ultimate demise once our corporate ethics folks have a chance to act upon my .. umm .. care package from a few weeks ago *EVIL GRIN* ... I ain't going quietly in to night this time .. hehehehehehheehee
