Hi all - new here, thanks for the great forum.  I'm set to have my local dealer swap an H3 in for me in the color I want this weekend.  I'm all wrapped up on this child safety lock thing, so we'll see how that goes.  Either way, I'm more than likely getting the H3, so I'll be here posting and chillin'.

Congrats on your purchase.  If your H3 was produced after 2/01/2007 it will have the child locks.

Thanks RutDogg - that's a great photo!  Too bad customer service doesn't know that - they told me otherwise on the phone AND email yesterday.  How long will it take for these to hit the lots?

I guess it just depends, but if it's really an important issue to you then wait.  It shouldn't be too long.  General rule of thumb is if they started manufacturing them on 2/01/07 then it should only be 4 to 6 weeks before they start hitting the dealer lots.

What's up with these Hummer salesman and customer service reps they don't seem to know anything.  If my sole responsibility in life was selling Hummers (of which only 2 models are now made) then I would know everything there was to know about them.

My old avatar may just be temporary.  Did you vote on my poll?  I noticed people posting to keep the old avatar but nobody was really voting on the poll for chair girl.  Her days could be numbered!!

I spoke with the dealership last night.  They "looked into it" and confirmed the child safety locks and the new placement of the window controls on the interior door.  My salesman told me to expect these on their lot in about 8 weeks, but if I wanted one faster to just have it built from the factory.  That way, I get the color and options I want without them making a color request and hoping it comes in soon.  I'm going today to order it!  I'm going to make sure that the contract says child safety locks......just in case.

Welcome!  You'll be sure to be the envy of most H3 owners if you are one of the first to get the new doors and controls!!!!
