I'm planning to add intake system and programmer.
I've narrowed it down to two choices.
1) K&N Performance Intake Kit + JET Stage 2 Performance Module
2) K&N Fuel Injection Kit + HyperTech Programmer III

I'm sticking with K&N since I did not have experience with AIRAID nor Volant.
I'm not looking for best gains, but noticeable. Appreciate any suggestions. Thx.

imo, the intakes are a waste of money, unless you're adding a supercharger. if it's an open intake, you run an additional risk of water ingestion. the gains are not significant enough to notice, unless you like the growl they make when you stomp it.

i got a noticable performance gain from the hypertech III, but it's still a rolling 7000 lb brick with the aerodynamics of a cinderblock. a bit more power and tighter shifts (i wouldn't recommend changing shift points though, it's not a race car), and a speedometer that's accurate again. the benefit of the hypertech is that you can easily restore factory programming if you have to take it in for maintenance, and if you trade your H2 for another one, use it on that one too. it doesn't lock in a VIN, but you do have to restore the programming on whichever vehicle you programmed first in order to use it on another one. basically meaning you can't program yours and someone elses at the same time.

Excellent..let us know how you like the performace...Have you, or are you planning on doing anything to the exhaust?..It almost goes hand in hand with the intake up-grade.

do them one at a time, and let us know which upgrade gives you a noticable improvement. if your MAF goes TU, put the stock intake back on, warranty doesn't cover it if you've put an oily filter in front of it. i would have to agree that an exhaust upgrade should be included though. no improvement in performance if you go cat-back, but it sure does sound better . . . .

it doesn't matter, the programmer doesn't care about intake or exhaust.
