Hummergirl4 -> RE: H3 vs H2 (4/26/2007 10:15:40 AM)

Think you are a wee bit unfair towards the H3's here ... they are still VERY capable vehicles (and yes, I'm a reformed "H3 is underpowered" kind of guy) and quite frankly did just as well as my H2 did wheelin and in many cases even better ... I personally would not get an H3 since I've been spoiled with my Deuce .. but to say they "need a lot of help" I think is just simply uncalled for ... then again, few people really drive these vehicles in a way to truly allow them to shine .. just my .02 worth I understand what your saying here. Again, it comes down to preference. When I went to the Hummer dealer, I wanted to check out the H3. It was brand new and I wanted to see what it was all about. I was driving an 05 Burnt Orange Chevy Avalanche (without the side body moulding crap). I'd only had it 5 months and wasn't happy with it. It's a nice truck, just not what I really wanted. I wanted something meatier..hahahha...I did the research on the H3's and they are every bit as capable as the H2, lighter, better on gas, and their turning radius is much better, approach and departure angles are great.....but...when I got inside and started driving it...therein lies the difference. It felt light, wasn't as cushy, the tick tock of the turn signal was annoying. The gear shifter felt flimsy and it was small. I could feel the bumps in the road more, it felt very stiff and rigid to me. It wasn't much different as far as ride and feel goes as the Avalanche was. Then I looked at the H2's....I had seen the SUT in consumer digest and loved it immediately. I asked the salesman if I could try one of those and he of course said yes. As soon as I got in I noticed a BIG difference. The interior was much more solid...the gear shifter is huge and solid feeling, when you grab the shifter of an H2, you know you got somethin in your hand..hahahha...the shifter in the H3 is very similar to the one in my daughters grand prix. The ride is definitly heavier in the H2, much more cushy, I don't feel the bumps in the road at all unless their huge..But again, it depends on what you want and like in a vehicle. The H3's are great...But I will never, ever give my my H2... [/quote]
