I really liked the factory setup but it wasn't available with the other options I wanted when I picked up our new truck last week. The dealer said he could do a retrofit but it would cost about $1200 because it requires replaceement of the rear bumper to fit.

Anyone have any recommedations for aftermarket H3 receiver hitches? I'm leaning toward's the Hidden Hitch unit because of previous experience but would appreciate any feedback.

What all did you get for the $250? Mine didn't come form the factory with one either, and the parts cost $915. I got to looking though, and it appears that the bumper mounts are the same so all you would need to buy is the bar that goes across with the visible hitch part. As in your case, I see no reason why the bumper couldn't be notched to acommadate it. Wiring could be dealt with later, or never depending on how soon you nned to pull a trailer. I just want another place to put a jack under, tow strap with broken Jeep on the other end, ect.

Seems like it boils down to doing an easy Hidden-Hitch aftermarket installation or buying factory parts and cutting the bumper. The Hidden-Hitch bar is under $200 with shipping, guess I'll price out the factory parts before deciding.

BTW, I found yesterday on my H3 that Hummer already provides trailer lamp wiring pigtail leads in the harness behind the rear bumper. NICE!
