Don't know if it's better, but I like the looks of the soft top .

the softtop is the best in my opinion... a bit lighter always good when it comes to offroading... also always nice to go topless in the summer time! and can always buy a hardtop either wagon or slantback from calgoldproducts... buy the problems with opentop is #1 security... easy to break into...and dirtiness... I say dirtiness because if you run it with the top off it gets pretty dirty inside due to dust and various stuff in the air as you drive especially if you wheel with the top off haha! also if you forget the top off and it starts to rain on you or rain on your topless rig while you are sleeping or eating dinner etc... had it happen to me a couple times... not nice having to drive home with a soaking wet a** heheh
but yea this spring I plan to by the after market bikini top for my rig which is lighter(due to no insulation) then the factory top and can simply just be rolled up to the windshield and tied right there so that you can easily put it back on and take it off... because the factory top is a pain in my opinion especially if its just yourself... I usually didnt take off my top unless the forecast said clear skies for 3+ days...
