Well my name is Mike and I am in Charlotte, NC. I have started my search for my first Hummer H1. I am looking for a 1994 H1 and am wanting to get some information on what I need to look for when buying a used H1. I have had only sports cars in the past so this is really new to me and I want to get more info before I buy anything.

As an aside I will be in the active market (meaning money and knowledge in hand to buy the one I want) for one starting in June so if anyone is looking to sale theirs in the coming year I am interested.

I have enjoyed the forum over the past weekend Keep up the good work.

Welcome.  Can't say much about the H1 myself, but you've come to the right place.  Lot's of great info, and friendly people here will help you out.

I am looking at 1995 H1 with the gas engine and wanted to see what the gas engine has to offer.  Does it run on premium gas/regular? I don't see myself going thru 24 or even 30" of water so that is not a problem but how do the two engines match on general offroading?  Just don't want to go with a gas engine if the desiel would be a better choice.

gasser's are rare.  it may be cheaper to run in the short term because of the differenc in fuel costs, but parts will be harder and harder to come by.  with a diesel, you have the option of making your own biodiesel, which will save you some $$$ over time.  good luck.
