Can someone provide instructions and/or photos showing how to remove the factory radio
for a 2006 H2 SUT - with a single disc player.

Thanks guys.

loosen the shifter handle set screw, on the side facing the dash, remove the shifter handle.

remove the center console bucket and lid, the screws are easily seen.  pull the shifter surround straight up, it's held in with clips.  once you have the bucket and surround out, you can see most of the screws holding the center console in, remove them.  there are 2 screws under the rear seat stereo controls, in the little storage pocket, you'll need to remove them as well.  pull the center console up and back, no need to remove it completely from between the seats.

remove the 2 hex-head screws on the center dash panel, they're on either side of the a/c vents.  pull the dash panel up and back, but not too hard.  once the clips are loose, you'll need to disconnect the cig lighter power cables.  once they're disconnected, set the panel aside and you should have free access to the stereo, climate control and on star components.

these instructions are for an '03, but i don't think there have been any physical changes since then.  good luck

knowledge, and common sense, simply come with age   and the 2 volume shop manual always comes in handy . . . .

it should work on any year.  mine's an '03, but from talking to the local dealer, they haven't made any structural changes to the interior of the H2 since inception.

SB...directions worked great.  Thanks again.
Everything went smooth.  Lost a couple of the clips that the
shifter surround snaps into...they should be easy to replace.

Thanks.

Jason

no problem, glad to see it worked out.  at least now we're sure there's no difference between the '03 and '06.
