There you are, its winter, the ground is frozen and 1000 piles of dirt dug up by various construction projects that didn't get finished before the big freeze stare at you like one-of-a-kind obstacle courses.

the ditches are full of snow, and every hill, rut, nook and cranny goes from scenery to obstacle.  parking lots fill with massive snow piles.

and somewhere in the upper midwest, i shake and quiver, knowing that i cannot eternally resist the temptation to just do some urban offroading forever....

I may not have the snow yet but they started a building a new sub division not far from where I live ... it looks like a small, not too involved, offroad park right now ... It is definitely getting difficult resisting pulling in on the way home from work one day ...

thats exactly what i'm talking about.

i'm currently parked like a perched bird on top of the snow pile in my parking lot.  the jeep nazi will be here to yank me down pretty soon.

My sub division is not all the way developed yet either .. there are a couple of pretty good mudholes to play in but I've gotten sh*t from the HOA Prez for it enough times to where I probably get myself a fine next time :/  Until I find something else I'll stay ready to pounce on the next opportunity that presents itself!!!!

what locker did you get, and did you have the dealer install it, or do it yourself?

eaton to match the rear.  Eatons part # is 19622-010, they're for sale all over the web or can be ordered locally.  its a generic locker for a standard GM front diff, from what i understand.

I can't install things myself as i'm not a great mechanic.

I would observe that the overall usefullness of the locker is ok, but its isn't like it transforms the trucks capabilities.

Lot's of construction sites around here that I would like to try.  I just don't want to get into trouble.
