I want an older (read affordable) toy, so I've been watching 1995 thru 2002 classifieds. I have read posts that state, (and I'm guessing the years) if you are looking to buy a 1996-2000 H1 make sure the engine has already been replaced, due to cracked cylinder heads. If not, this will be a $15K bill down the road. I see some real good condition H1s with less than 50K miles, for a decent price, but the engines haven't been worked on or replaced. Would you still buy it and save up for the inevitable?

I bought mine at a good price for simular reason... although my engine was replaced in 99 I heard the real fix didnt come out till the heavier engine was released in 2001... but yea its all ones opinion depending on what you can afford and what you want etc etc...
