FM..you have a problem then..

Because my dome lights both come on when I open just the rear cargo door...You might want to check to see if the little button to the lower left of the headlight switch is pressed ON!

Switch is on, the lights work when the doors are opened... just not when the cargo door is opened. I don't even see a switch/actuator for the cargo door. So I either have a problem, or they jipped me. For instance, if I get out of the drivers door and close it, and open the cargo door.. the light will actually go off after just a bit as if it's only acting on the closing of the drivers door. It doesn't recongnize the cargo door at all.

fireman, try to have the truck running and all doors closed, open the rear hatch door and see if you get an open door message on the display. Maybe your door switch is stuck in. That could be why you aren't getting it to turn on the light when you open the door. If there is no open door message then you know the switch is faulty. My lights come on when I open the rear door.

I'll certainly have to check into it. Right now, it acts as though there is no switch at all. I have not paid attention to see if the door message comes up, but I'll check on that.

OK, I armed myself with a flashlight and quickly found the switch. (all the other times I think about it, it's dark and I can't see ) The switch is shorting out. If I push it in, it doesn't work, but if I push it to the right a bit the lights come on, but fade back out if I don't hold it there. Guess I'll have an excuse to chat with the pretty girls at the service center...

Thanks for shedding some light on this...

I have had my H3 for about 2 months and so far I love it. It is a solid truck and drives very nice. I was driving a 03 Slverado SS and thought the power difference was going to be hard to get used to but wasn't. I like the Cool, factor,XM Radio,Heater Controls are easy to adjust and confortable to drive. Like others said the window controls could be in a better spot although I very rarley put one down.

I work in the service department of a Cadillac/Hummer dealership as shop forman and would not have bought this if it were a dud. These trucks are really taking off and will only get stronger in the near future with new models. Steve

Things I hate:

  • Leaving it parked at work in down town Buffalo...not a good neighborhood.

Thigs I did not like but got used to very quickly:

  • The gas and brake pedals are too close together (I have size 13 feet)
  • The widow controls are back too far
  • Not much room to adjust the seat with the door closed (I have big hands)

I love everything else especially the Monsoon with a little Def leppard or (old) V-H cranking out of it.

Got the switch fixed today. Only 35 minutes at the dealership... not nearly enough time to enjoy the lovely company of the attractive young ladies who work there.

But I have to admitt, I love the faces my wife makes at me when I'm doing it..

ImportKiller,

When are the changes in the 2007 coming exactly?  Does the '07 not have child locks on it now?

Thanks.

Don't know if all the 07's have the child safety door locks or not, from what I have read and heard they do not. Rumors out of GM say the changes will be made in a mid 07 release, kind of like a 2007 1/2, gm likes doing half years for some damn reason.

-4 speed gearbox.
-position of windows control
-position of seats control.
-non removable headrests in the back
-non heated rear view mirrors.
-no air conditionning vents in the back.

My guess is that point 2 to 5 will be adressed in future models.

Things I dislike:  My abilities at backing up the beast.  This weekend I squashed the front of a BMW 320 while backing it up.  I didn't hear or feel a thing.  I only have 1100 miles on it (and maybe backed it up less than 10 times), so I am still getting use to it.  I am currently online looking for backup sensors, and I had a camera on order but it just haven't arrived yet.

LIKES:
Exterior/Interior styling.
The way it drives (like driving a 4 wheel BMX bicycle)
The way it handles in ice and snow.
Comfort (comfortable seats, huge sunroof, decent stereo, quiet ride)

DISLIKES:
Visibility out of the rear window and limited travel of the rear wiper.
Gas mileage (although not terrible for what it is)
Monthly payment$
WEEKLY TRIPS TO THE DEALER TO FIX VARIOUS ERROR CODES.

Likes Everything!, except:

No visibility - fixed it with a backup camera and sensors.
Rear window wipe - only gets half the window that you can't see out of anyway.
Pedals too close together - really is dangerous for fat foots like me.
Window switches too far back - I hear a fix is coming - too bad for me.
No heated side mirrors - OK, it's not an escalade, but it still is the price point where it should have them.
No heated windsheild washers - they froze in the cold weather this week.
Power Seat controls too hard to reach - put them on the door?
No iPod or Aux jack - 21st century requirement.
No Bluetooth - OnStar- puleeze...
Meep Meep Road Runner Horn - Really should sound like the truck that it is.
no interior lights where you want them (glove boxes, vanity mirrors, engine)

I really do like it - I just think these should be fixed or included in a $40,000 vehicle.

I have not read all of the other posts so hope this is not redundant.
Things I like:
1.The H3 fits nicely in my garage
2. It has a nice turning radius and is easy to drive.
3. Good (relatively) mpg.
4. Looks great on the road
5. Comfortable seats

The negatives:
1. Had to pay extra for locking gas cap
2. Also additional other items that should have been included
