I want to install my RCI 2950  (Full Size) and can't figure out any decent place to put it... I know someone here has to have installed one... but where???

I was thinking for the antenna, on the rear bumper far right side so the rear door will still open.. (5 foot tall firestick to clear the roof)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated..

Oh yea, I know that i could buy a different unit that has everything installed in the mic, but this unit has a great deal more power that a "normal" cb.. ;)

Thanks for the replies!!! :passingbeersallaround:

I had the same problem as you, You can mount it on the roof (if no sunroof) but it will look kinda strange IMO in such a small truck. I ended up going to a cobra unit that has everything in the mic handle.

As far as the antenna, green lantern has a really cool mount he made on the spare tire bracket, two whips mount behind the spare and all you can see is where they come up above teh spare to the roof...really slick looking. I have a flush mount that I am going to be drilling into the side of the bumper but haven't got around to it yet.

here is my Cobra remote mount CB

Import,

I have an idea for running your radar detector rather than through your vents. I will get you some pics of mine, its a little more "cosmetically" appealing!

I know other ways I can run the wires, but honestly I don't care how it looks. when I install my system and video stuff in the spring I am going to re route everything then. I just have the wire run under the bezel (not vents) for now becasue I have it hard wired so I don't have to plug it in.

Shellback, yea I took them all apart and painted them. Hell the radar has been with me through three trucks and three colors now
Green Lantern was some dik that used to post here but got skeered and ran away

I used a Cobra Microphone CB. Mounted on a flex shaft fastened under the passenger seat. Connection box fastened under seat. Passthru antenna on rear side window works good.
