Also remember that you will now need a passport. Not yet they postponed that again to 2009 Unless you FLY. I think as of NOW you need a passport to FLY in, but not DRIVE in???

It depends on your personal taste, but personally my husband and I think Costa Rica. We too have visited hawaii but found it to be a little to crowded in maui for our taste.

If you are looking to use those round trip tickets, you could come to Portland, Or. I know, you are thinking WTF is there, but Mt Hood has skiing year round, along with rock climbing, There are ample places to go wine tasting, if you are into that, the coast is an hour and a half away. The scenery is beutiful and green, and the Columbia River Gorge has some of the best wind surfing in the world. Portland is also rich in culture and history. The Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Or, about 22 miles away is home of the "Spruce Goose," the airplane built be Howard Hughes along with an SR 71, and the Space Needle in Seattle is only a three hour drive to the North, or you can take Amtrack, they have three trips a day. I also know of a quite little Bed and Breakfast not too far out of town with reasonable rates for that country farm feel.

I know she wants to go here. I LOVE Hawaii, Oahu to be exact. I really wanted to go back there again in May, but financially I don't think it's going to happen. I promised my wife next time we would get one of those oceanside villas. We stayed at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore. I'll never stay anywhere else, I don't THINK!
