We are at exactly 4 months now since head replacement and going toe to toe with GM/Hummer.  Received a call today from the rep (she left me a message) NO news yet, NO answers yet, "she was just touching base with me and she would touch base with me again at the end of the week."

Instead of how many people does it take to screw in a lightbulb?...It should be:

How many GM representatives does it take to screw up an extended warranty?

Weekly update of the continuing 4 month saga with GM/Hummer and the extended warranty. Got a call today from a "substitute" rep ("mine was out sick"). She was abrasive (WRONG thing to do with ME - an already angry woman), interrupted me, talked over me, covered the phone so she could not hear me talking (yes we all know what that sounds like as we all have done it), so we had words and she said "GM is not interested in dealing with and offering you anything until you return that original letter period!"  So, my reply was "and I am no longer interested in dealing with 4 months worth of weekly phone calls to tell me nothing has been resolved, NOR am I interested in returning my original letter without something satisfactory in my hand to replace it AND that I will now be taking this matter up with my attorney!"

So some of you say, so why not return the darn letter already! (Because GM has lied to me 3 times now both telephonically AND in writing with promises of what they are offering me, so I am going to give up the only ace card that I have? I think not!)

Interestingly enough, I received a PM here last evening from another member who claims she made the call and GM sent her her extended warranty letter already (all within 1 month!) SO my question is - WHY can't they take care of me properly and satisfactorily??!!  BTW, I have been nice and diplomatic with them all along until today! And one last thing - since I made mention of my attorney 2 phone calls ago...now every time they call they inform me that my call is being taped which they never did before LOL.

I would make a color duplicate of the original letter and send the dupluicate back just to see what they would do.

Lawwyfe, I didn't mean to sound sarcastic in my PM that I sent I realy just wanted to thank you for the advice you gave. If I did I am truely sorry about that. I made quite a few calls to GM over a few weeks. If you like I can get you the name and number of the case manager that I spoke to. He was very nice and did get back with me in the time frame he said. I was very suprised to get the letter when I did after reading what they have put you through these last 4 months. Let me know if you want his name and extension.

sjr, NO NO NO, I did not mean to imply that you were sarcastic in anyway! I am just angry that they seem to be willing to help others (and in such a timely manner) yet have put me thru thru all this.  They are now way beyond the point of absurdity. (I am happy for you that you got satisfaction and now have security.) Sure, I'd be interested to know who you got help from if you would like to share that info, because I sure am getting nowhere with the 2 people that I have dealt with the last 4 months.

I just had my head replaced last week..
Hey 2 heads are better than one!

Yesterday I got a call back from Hummer and they will send me a "component letter" to extend the warranty to cover the whole engine for 7 years or 100K. (Whatever comes first).

They said I should recieve teh letter in 2-4 weeks
I had opened a file with them before having the work done.

Dan...good to hear...

Can you furnish a phone # and contact name you were working with?..Maybe some of these folks that are dealing with the rocks of GM, may have better luck with your contacts.

Denny, I find this absolutely incredible that 2 people on here in the last week have gotten extended warranties and in a timely manner, when I have been dealing with GM for 4 1/2 months now and as of my last phone call from them 1 week ago...I was told "GM is no longer interested in dealing with you until you return the original letter!"  WTF? WHY can't I get a simple freakin extended warranty??!!

Thanks Dan! It took me about 2 months and many phone calls to get my 1st letter (which was not at all what I was told that I would be getting - engine & drivetrain which is all I wanted.) It was head/valve basically only. Which is why I took up issue with GM yet again.  Then I was promised again via telephone a terrific extended warranty (basically bumper to bumper and letter would arrive within a couple weeks) - 3 weeks later when I never received that new letter, I called GM yet again and was informed that it was all a big mistake and the rep should have never told me that I would get the extended warranty and that my 1st letter was canceled as well.  Now eventho they canceled the 1st letter - they claim they will do nothing for me until I return that original letter - so here we are 4.5 months later and I have beaten about 5 dead horses here with a big stick by now! LOL

These 2 have gotten me NO WHERE!  Adrian Baxter & Jane Keeler

Mr Joe Rodriquez from GM called my husband today (my initial call was yesterday) and a letter for 6 years/100,000 miles will be arriving at my home soon. I am very happy with this!! Not that I won't be trading for a new V8 H3 but I made sure it was transferrable!! No if I could only get that V8 in GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!!!

Barb :)
