The upper section mounts over a black ABS block out that covers the factory chrome grille bars. There is no cutting involved for installation. The grille’s mirror-finished frame smoothly blends into the factory chrome fascia and the gleaming chrome mesh brings a striking new look to the H2. The lower mesh completes the grille package. Like the others here have said, I too will leave the OEM Hummer grille 'as is', because it's truly unique to the Hummer line.
