ORIGINAL: Ghostrider What do y'all know about Cooper or Pro-Comp tires? Good? I've got a line on cheap pricing for both and I'm looking to jump up to the 315/75/16's Haven't had either one .... however, I'll swear by my Mickey Thompsons Baja MTZ's ....

ORIGINAL: jm4490 Stay away from cooper MAJOR cracking issues garbage garbage garbage!! Visitors got to see a new line of all-terrain radial light truck tires available from Mickey Thompson, a company owned by Cooper. The new Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ radial comes in sizes for most light truck/SUV applications, from the traditional 30x9.50R15LT size to the 40x13.50R20LT. This tire, says the company, features “stone kickers” between each shoulder lug. I found that on a SEMA report site. Another Cooper huh? Im liking the reports and wrap around tread. The MTZ is made by them also. I too have the MT MTZ and I did a lot of study before buying them. Just which Cooper tire did you have jm4490?? Thumbnail Image

Pro Comp is also a Cooper company. http://www.procomptires.com/xtrememudterrain.html I'm thinking about those...looks about comparable with the Mickey's...but if Mickey is a Cooper company..maybe I can get a line on the MTZ.

I picked the MT MTZ because they were more aggressive than my AT and had siping which helps on slick rock and slick pavement. I also like the 3 ply sidewall with one wrap at an angle. The rim protector ridge and the side wall tread is nice in rocks. I also run in the gumbo mud and these clean out better than anything I have had. I think they have more rubber on the ground than the Coopers everybody around here started buying before this. I may have put this up before but Im staying with the 285 for the terrain I run in. Its more important for me to have tire clearance in the wheel wells than 3/4 inch more road clearance and other issues. Thumbnail Image
