Dennis, took a lot of guts to post that! Congrats on being sober for so long now. I too come from a set of "party parents," who both had their very own DUI's. So, I of course had good teachers as a child...meaning I was quite the party girl myself (and still do like a good party on occassion!) I was lucky in that I met my hubby at such a young age (late teens) who set me on the right path. I quickly realized that it would NOT be a good thing if Mr Po Po Man had to come bail his girlfriend/wife out of the slammer. Hence I did not and do not drink and drive period!!!! Now with that being said, parents who don't think this is learned behavior (and some genetic predisposition as well) for their children...THINK AGAIN! We emulate our parents - even if we don't wish to often. Happy holidays to all and remember..enjoy that holiday cheer (or DON'T) BUT keep those keys OUT OF YOUR HANDS!

Sure glad you're ok...scary stuff. I had an aunt killed by a drunk driver, happened 2 yrs.ago on Christmas eve. The DD escaped without a scratch. Dennis...I applaud your honesty. We've all done things we're not proud of, but it takes a real standup person to recognize, learn and grow from it. You're an inspiration
