Hell Dennis!!
I think that we are lucky to have you around here, this forum would not be the same without you.
So, chances are little that me, or anyone else, hates you for what you just wrote.Your a jolly good fellow.

....BTW, I was having in mind offering you a bottle of CHATEAU MARGAUX 1961 for Christmas....I can't possibly do it now, I'm sending you a bottle of PERRIER water instead

Hey Jean, you are too Kind..I'll still take the vino..as I have an UN-OPENED wine collection

Not to dwell on this..But I really to this day don't think I was an Alcoholic or had a problem..

I drank, got drunk, fell down..No problem!

But I was able to call it quits cold turkey and never missed drinking..Didn't go to AA or any other drug alcohol rehab..Just 14 hours in the graybar hotel is what cured me.

Dennis, took a lot of guts to post that! Congrats on being sober for so long now.

I too come from a set of "party parents," who both had their very own DUI's. So, I of course had good teachers as a child...meaning I was quite the party girl myself (and still do like a good party on occassion!) I was lucky in that I met my hubby at such a young age (late teens) who set me on the right path.  I quickly realized that it would NOT be a good thing if Mr Po Po Man had to come bail his girlfriend/wife out of the slammer. Hence I did not and do not drink and drive period!!!!

Now with that being said, parents who don't think this is learned behavior (and some genetic predisposition as well) for their children...THINK AGAIN!  We emulate our parents - even if we don't wish to often.

Happy holidays to all and remember..enjoy that holiday cheer (or DON'T) BUT keep those keys OUT OF YOUR HANDS!

Thanks for the pats on the back..I should of never gone that far in the first place knowing the problems that comes of it..But I'm just so damn thankful I had an easy wake-up call before I really cause anyone any problems and really got deep into some serious doo-doo.

Cigars are my next effort..Maybe my New Years resolution

Don't change your mind now..I may have a moment of weakness and need the fix..

Nothing better than a Cuban cigar that was tenderly hand rolled on the thighs of a young Cuban maiden

Sure glad you're ok...scary stuff. I had an aunt killed by a drunk driver, happened 2 yrs.ago on Christmas eve. The DD escaped without a scratch.

Dennis...I applaud your honesty. We've all done things we're not proud of, but it takes a real standup person to recognize, learn and grow from it. You're an inspiration

Thanks Mary..I'm touched that you would say that..I just thank God I woke up when I did.. I take no credit for that...If it inspires one person to straighten up before it's too late, then I guess I'm glad to have been that inspiration...but wasn't my intentions to be the poster child for sobriety.

#1) I have just been incentivesized (I do not know if that is a word but it is today)…I do enjoy smoking but yesterday I bought a pack of smokes for $5.35 and today I bought a pack of smokes for $6.75 at the same store. As I said even though I enjoy smoking I think this is the incentive that I need to stop.

#2) Dennis...14 Hours...GAY BAR???
