I just got my H3 last week all black with the cab lights on it. I really do love it and the gas mileage. But I test drove a H2 a few days ago and am wandering if maybe i should got a H2. Does anyone else feel that way ? I am used to driving big F-350 Power Strokes super dutys for 8 years and i just thought it would be nice to get something that looked good and good on gas mileage for a while.I guess my choices are pay around 36.000 for a new H3 like i did (OR) get a used H2 for around the same but a 2003 model with 30.000 miles on it for the same price of a new H3.What is every one feelings on this thanks ???? I know the H2 will be bad on gas I have heard. How many miles does the H2 get ?

I think most h2's get between 9 and 13 mpg. If I were you I'd stick to the h3. It looks good, better mileage, and to me it makes more sense (no o'0ffense to the h2'ers). If you think it lacks power there are superchargers available that boost power with 40%.

At double the price I'd expect the H2 is better at most things but I'd shove my head in a toilet face first before I spent 70,000 on any car... If the H3 does what you need it to then the question becomes should I buy new or used... That answer is obvious too... I guess the most important question is however, what did you do with the F-350 you couldn't have done with an F-150?? If that answer is nothing then maybe the H3 is the first step on the road to recovery of spending too much on vehicles you don't need... If that answer is that you have to tow up a mountain to get to work than maybe the H3 won't get the job done... Until I bought my H3, I drove a piece of crap 97 Toyota with more dents than Snow White's cherry... It was also a 4 cyl so utterly powerless... I drove it till it was dying and lots of guys at work laughed at me... Now I have the best truck at my place of business but the only thing that has changed is them and their opinion... I am virtually the same in either truck and don't care anymore now than I did then... We all know what Freud would have said about this question so unless you live in California (where cars are a status symbol) I'd stick with the new truck and forget all the others you might have bought... If you don't you just might be a few thousand dollars poorer and on the H2 forum asking about the H1's...

ORIGINAL: shortbus not everybody in CA buys one for a status symbol. some of us actually use them for what they were built for. but the H3 does a pretty awesome job if you plan on taking it off the pavement. i was impressed the first time i was one off road, and that impression gets better each time one comes along. the H3 wasn't available when i bought mine, and the only reason i got rid of my supercharged 4runner was because it didn't pull my camper well enough. buyers remorse is common, i'd say get used to it and you'll realize you made the right choice. if you plan on going off pavement, you'll enjoy it. if not, well, it does fine at the mall too. What year was your 4 runner and how do you keep you truck in such good shape with all the off roading you do

ORIGINAL: shortbus my 4runner was a '97, my motherinlaw is still driving it (~180k miles and still strong). she has a lead foot and really likes the supercharger. as for keeping the bus in good shape, i just use common sense. i've never had it airborne, at least not all wheels at the same time, and i try to go out with people that know more than me. i've replaced the stock shocks and steering parts, but that's the only real change to the stock setup (aside from torsion bar adjustments). and i know what my limits are and try not to exceed them. i think a lot of it just the truck itself, it's built to take a lot. i'm sure i'll break it somewhere down the line, but i'll have someone with me that can pull my broke a$$ back to civilization. If I were to ever go back to the TOYOTA family of which I owned 2 Celicas and 2 Supras...I would go with the LAND CRUISER..aarr, arr, arr, arr.
