Got a quick question for you guys. When we got the Hummer, after the first test drive, I told them the truck felt like it had a tire out of balance. They took the wheels and checked the balance on them. They said the balance was good on the tires and sent us on our way. The vib did not change and is still there. It shows up around 60 MPH and stays with you. To me it still seems like a tire balance issue.

Is there any special balance procedure for the H3? I know my truck has to have the tires balanced on a Lug Centric machine where most vehicles are able to be balance by Hub Centric machines.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You most likely have a bad tire or two. The belts are probably warped.

Have your tires Road Force Balanced..If one is out of tolerance and can't be corrected..and since your H3 is BRAND NEW..have the dealer replace the tire..

If your truck has the goodyears on it I have seen a few with tires that have a lot of hop in them (when on the balancer there is a lot of up and down movement). We have replace several tires for this and seems to smooth them out. My truck has bridgestones on it and seems to ride better than the goodyears but I could be lucky with a nice set of tires. We have a hunter gsp9700 road force balancer and it helps out a lot on vibration concerns. Unfortunatly the goodyear tires in general give us the most problems. Hope this helps. Steve

Thanks for your replies. I am going to take it back to the dealer again and get them to look at it one more time. It should not have this vibration. I will ask and see if they have the GSP9700 machine. This is a Hunter machine if I am not mistaken.

Thanks for the replies guys. I want this to be corrected. The more info I go in with the better I am able to talk with them about the problem.

it also may not be a tire at all. If it's making a vibration at a certain speed/rpm it could be a whole lot of different stuff. I would ask the dealer to take off all 4 and swap them with 4 from a new one...then take it for a ride to see if it is indeed the tires.

Very generous offer killer. Unfortunately I like near Knoxville Tn. The truck is about 1 month old now and has had this vibration from day one. Actually on the day we picked it up, I had them check the balance on the tires. They said the balance was good. We drove a used one the same day and it was smooth. We just got a better deal on an 07 so we took it instead.
