No... 5900 Gross...

Close enough.. But if you back out the Payload capacity you're at 4700lbs all by itself...Just keep the fat mammas out and you'll do better on the MPGs...

But I also understand that the DriveTrain is up to Mil-specs standards and quite durable [Standard transfer case is 2.64:1 (Borg Warner 4493), Adventure Series or (Off-road package) has a 4:1 transfer case (BW 4494)]...Not something you'll find in a typical pickup or passenger car..so I think it will hold up under the long haul just fine.

What milspec is on the tranny?? I'd agree the diffs and tranfer cases are fine but who is confident about transmissions required to compensate for this level of imbalance?? As far as I know, no transmission has ever been asked to do this task before so who can say what will happen?? I want it to as much as anyone but GM set out to make this much more powerful and failed to come thru so the system is not targeted at the H3 nor is it even GM's first choice... Combined it will keep we watching very, very closely...

You're so right..worth keeping an eye on...In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the H3 with no worries..Or at least until the warranty expires.

Don't worry... The average life of a tranny has got to be somewhere between 150000 - 200000 miles so even if this one is stressed, it should make it to at least 50000-150000... You can bet GM made sure they could make the 40000 warranty mark however... They arn't stupid and that being probably their only concern and/or requirement, I'd bet they made it good enough for their needs...

According to my paperwork, the H3 has a 4 year 50,000 mile warranty b to b.
