okokok.... i have a sorta different question...

will i have issues with a level as far as topping out or what not? anyone who was done this..... do you off road? or pull trailers? any problems?

JeepeaterH3 -> RE: TORSION BAR ADJUSTMENT (10/27/2007 5:54:05 PM)

ok ok ok... i did the torsions. im going to post pics.. im a little confused.....

i did 10 turns passenger side, and 7 drivers. its still not even... before i did it my front was pretty low. like real low. less than an inch before the tires would hit the fender......

what the hell is going on....

its way higher than it was.. but i went out of my way to dive around and find a stock adventure series and park next to it....... it was higher off the ground than mine is with all those torsion twists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wtf!!!!!! hood was taller, mirrors.... it was bigger all together.. stock!

ill post pics.. but what do you think is up...

i think mabye dealer tweaked them down cause i complained about the left was lower than the right side...

im so confused [image]http://www.hummerxclub.com/forum/images/smilies/gear_duh.gif[/image]

the ride is actually better.... its smoother... its real weird...

KEEP IN MIND. THIS IS AFTER 10 TURNS..... IS THIS NORMAL, OR WAS MY TRUCK SITTIN LOW?
IT HANDLES FINE. NO TOPPONG OR ANYTHING. I TESTED ON EVERYTHING..

vilim12 -> RE: TORSION BAR ADJUSTMENT (10/29/2007 10:03:02 PM)

what should be the ideal height from the front fender to the ground to make the truck look striaght how many inches im at 42 in the front now

shortbus -> RE: TORSION BAR ADJUSTMENT (10/30/2007 7:14:33 AM)

i don't know that there's a standard height, each truck is going to be different.  don't know about an H3, but i pull a 5k lb camper with the H2, got the tbars cranked pretty good, and it handles fine.  just needs more ba!!s and a better cooling system.

2zRescue -> RE: TORSION BAR ADJUSTMENT (11/3/2007 12:10:12 AM)

I am thinking of doing this, so I thought I'd bump this one up.

shortbus -> RE: TORSION BAR ADJUSTMENT (11/3/2007 9:49:46 AM)

pass. side almost all the way, drivers side about 2 turns sticking out.  running 37x13.5 toyos.

2zRescue -> RE: TORSION BAR ADJUSTMENT (11/4/2007 12:40:51 AM)

Is that for the H2 or H3?

rhill20 -> RE: TORSION BAR ADJUSTMENT (11/18/2007 8:31:48 AM)

I just did mine last night, it took about 8 turns to raise it 2". This scared me alittle due to the fact that I kept reading everyone saying that they did 2-3turns. After 3 turns it raised the front alittle more that 1/2".
I drove around HWY and CITY afterwards and it seems fine, just need to adjust the headlights. I don't know if what I'm about say is actual or not, but I asked one of the service guys why they stick the ass up in the air like that and he said that it is so that they can stay competitive with MPG. apparently that little drop in the nose makes that much of a difference in gas mileage.

BridgeBuilder -> RE: TORSION BAR ADJUSTMENT (11/21/2007 1:02:03 PM)

When I cranked mine it took 5 turns on the driver's side, 3 3/4 on the passenger, I used a 4' level on the rockers rather than only a measurement (which varies by 3/8") and yea I did shoot ground elevations first to make sure all was relative. I initially thought the ride was slightly stiffer but since I did this a week after I got it I really can't say. As far as mpg I have noticed a 4% decrease.
