Some of us have had PCMforless reprogram our computers. Cost is $149.00. Best bucks that I have spent for a mod. They will remove the limiter (if you want). I don't like the idea of a speed limiter (and had it removed), but I don't plan to test the truck to see if they indeed removed it.
Much more importantly, they made several 'individualized' performance (and preference) tunes. For instance, I tow a 3500# boat occasionally and they took that into consideration. There are a couple of lengthy threads on the topic.
PCM reprogram is highly recommended.. .

Sounds about right to me from what I've heard ... Cutting the ignition would be a safety hazzard, fuel on the other hand ... Man, these are the things that makes me miss the SRT-10, no cap ...

Didn't know we have autobahn here in North America.
Speed limits are there for a reason.

If I'm not mistaken, JM is in France..I'm not sure what the speed laws are there but its a whole lot closer to the autobahn than I am.

Ahhh..
Still a crazy thing to do (run that speed for those distances) with any type of off road tire. I don't even want to think of the heat they would start to generate after a while at those speeds. After a while of that, sooner or later ones going to fail, more than likely. They were never intended to for that level of performance.

Hi, fireman.
I understand your point and partially agree with it.
but,
first of all, where I live we have a lot of highway without speed limit so I am not doing anything against the law,
second speed in itself is NOT dangerous, the way someone drive is, thus when I am driving fast I make sure that I am not endengering anyone else safety,
third I have been lucky enough to own all sort of exotic very fast cars so I am used to drive fast on long distances without loosing my concentration.
last, you Americans are having these very low speed limits for years and are trained to drive in between, let say, 50 and 70 mph, your cars and most of your roads are built with this parameter in mind that's why I partially agree with you.
We, in Europe are used and trained to drive faster and most of our highways and some of our cars are safer driving 120 mph than yours driving 70.
make no mistake, I am not saying that our cars, our highways or our driving are better. The legal and technical approaches are just different.
in any event, one has to adjust his driving to his own hability and to the external factors surrounding his car by doing that you drive safely for you and for the others.
Obviously all the above is pure theory applicable on a case to case basis, limiters are made for the average driver turning ''amok'' on a friday evening.... for that reason I am not against limiters.... but really, do you believe that an accident is less serious driving 98 mph instead of 105?
BTW, I am driving since 32 years and never got a speed ticket, let alone a car accident (thanks God!)
