can any one tell me how to get the step rail plastic tops off so i can add my new chrome plates to this area,they spring up but dont let loose and afraid to break something.Came with no instructions on how to remove the plastic skid plates to add the new.

All I can say is that I told the dealer one of mine were loose and they told me to wait until it got really bad, because they are not easy to replace.

I would think they would just pop off. But I can't say for sure.

I guess the chrome is going to take the place of the plastic step plate? If so just yank or saw-zall till they come off and throw em away. easiest way to do it...they are a bitch to remove while trying to keep in one piece.
