Hi,

I'm new to this forum so first of all: Hello to everyone.

Somewhere on this forum someone mentioned they will put in a bigger engine, is this true or just speculation?
When and what kind of motor would it be then? I think even a 3,5l 6 cylinder would already be better (bit more power and even better mileage). Personally I think the mileage now is pretty bad especially for a mid-size suv.

And what do you guys think about an added electric engine?, this can easily boost power to the level of a 4,5l engine and mpg to a reasonably 3l engine.

Hi and Welcome..

I'm not a design automotive engineer..But it seems GM could have squeezed another cylinder in there somewhere...But I think a car of this nature is not pratical for anything in the hybrid department...This is an OFF ROAD SUV and has a GVW of 5800 lbs now..A battery pack would push the limit on the power to weight ratio.

BTW..If you consider that the average life span of a Hybrid's Battery pack, which is about 4 to 6 years and the average cost of replacing one of them is around $4000 to $7000 dollars plus where do you put all the used batteries?..Back into the environment somewhere?..Compared to the dollar$ Saved on the gasoline you didn't buy as much of..It is a wash, no difference, no savings, ZIP..So what's the point?...
