Thanks for crawlin around! I think you just like an excuse to go admire how clean yours is under there. You can check mine out if you want...I havent washed it since we went muddin the other day!! I was thinking it was a firewall plug too...but dont have the slightest clue how it ended up back there! I got it in May and last night it did get rocked pretty good so maybe it was just an extra part somebody left in there. Woo hoo! Thats $4.01 for FREE...yeaaa stickin it to the man!!!!!

Open the tailgate and look below the taillight housing on each side. Not on the tailgate but on the truck in the jamb area. Those are plugs that go on each side. One obviously fell out. Mine is missing one too. I guess it's common they fall out. Maybe glue it back in?

There is two when you open the back door the door with the tire on it .Mine fell out last winter plugs back in my left one near the piston was missing. When i was at the dealer i showed them they said it will take two hours to put that one in they had a extra weld in the hole they would have to get a small tool in there to grind it out i said forget it. Time the truck starts to rust i will not have it.

One of mine had a extra weld in the hole so it would not plug in.
