I spoke too soon! I opened up the back hatch and those are the right pieces but I've got both of them in place...maybe I do have an extra!? Or maybe I did stick it to the man and I have HummerMikes!

OH MY GOSH.....THAT SAME THING FELL OFF MY H3 TOO!!!! I've only had my H3 for almost 4 months. I was just going to post the same topic. It fell off from the rear by the gas tank about a week ago and I have been driving just fine. No problems...yet. Maybe I should go to the dealer.

Heavens girl..Just put a little glue around the edges and stick it back in...It serves no function other than to cover a hole that does nothing.

had the same plug fall out with less than 1000 miles. It's not from the rear of the truck; I have both of those. Anyone find this plug anywhere but on the rear door jam?

Seems like a bit of a problem...

They may have had two doubled up in one hole and finally fell out..Kinda like sometimes you get two wrappers on a Reeses Peanut butter cup

Mmmmm. Reeses...

Mine fell out when I opened the rear driver's-side door. But I haven't found those plugs anywhere but those two on the rear hatch.

Now I have to raid the kid's candy. She had some Reeses I think!

I FOUND IT!!
There is a 3rd hole! Oddly enough, not a 4th hole though.
Here is where it is... lay under the truck next to the rear driverside wheel
Near the gas cap facing the rear is one more plug. It is a few inches higher than where the other ones are. It looks like it is to access the tail light assembly but there is not one on the passenger side.
Here is an attempt at taking a picture but its in a tight spot.

It looks like a Bic pen to me. Most likely just fell out of your pocket, I would worry about it. Happy to be a help.

Eagle eyes, dennis and pure tracking skills.

That and I was noticing that big glob of mud I missed that kept getting dirt in my eyes right after just cleaning the truck twice! And then I noticed a big gaping hole with black wear marks around it!! So you can thank my dirty truck for saving everybody $4.01.

and for the bic...hahaha...its a joke. I get jokes.

Back to my original post..the smart @$$ is trying to figure out where to stic the bic and not the front plug that actually goes in the back. I set myself up for that one...didnt even see it coming!!! nice one.

After finding all these easily accessable holes in the truck that lead to the inside of the body...it could lead to a good way of getting back at your buddy who pulled a prank on you. Pull off the plug, drop a few bolts in there and watch the service bills pile up as they try to find that rattle
