If it's still covered under warranty, absolutely. Why get charged or hassle with it if you don't have to?

He said he was OUT of warranty. So, if he goes to the dealer, they will charge him for to repairs.

I haven't a clue, but it sounds like you have a bad switch or short somewhere. As for the mirrors, they are probably just gummed up with crud. Try presure washing the area where they pivot to see if you can clean the crap out.

I must have missed the out of warranty bit .. bummer, that sucks! Yep, sounds like gunk building up to me too.

Well I think someone may be able to help but first I think we need to know what we are working with. What hummer and year are we talking about?

How dare you get me excited thinking that this may be a girly post. You can redeem yourself however. But ditto of what was said above.

I have heard of this before on other boards, something to do with PDU? Expensive!!!

bbunevich
Sound like the circuit board in the wiper motor is bad. The solder joints crack causing the wiper motor to continue to run. It also causes the wipers to come on by them selves. The circuit board will need to be replaced. This involves removing 3 torx head screws and disconnecting the wiring harness after doing that remove the black plastic cover and remove the circuit board. Install the new circuit boaed, cover, 3 screws and the harness. that should cure the problem.

Good Luck
