Trip across Canada

Scooter -> Trip across Canada (10/26/2006 8:12:39 PM)

Hello everyone. I've been lurking for about 4 months now ever since buying the H3, thanks to everyone that contributes and makes this the great forum that it is. We just finished a trip across Canada, 5500 kilometers pulling a 5x10 Intruder trailer. The trailer weighed in at about 3000 pounds and most times it was like it wasn't even there. Bone stock automatic, loaded with the two of us and two very large Labradors, we still averaged about 22 miles to the gallon. The best was through Northern Ontario, cruise contol on and speed limit we pulled 25, the worst was through the Prairies where it dropped to about 18. The drop was due to the speed, it's awfully flat there with not a lot of scenery. The ride was incredible, I sure love my Hummer. Here's a couple of pics.......

haha yeah, I've gotten a little under half of that once before.... that was depressing... although with all due respect, I did go off roading, was in a parade, and tried to see how fast I could get the H3 up to a couple of times just for laughs (stopped at ~94mph!?! wtf!?!). I generally get anywhere from 14-16 mpg though [:(]

Post some more pictures of that trip Scooter. I bet it the scenery was amazing. That lake looks like my club in Northern Wisconsin up in the North Woods. Pretty cool stuff for a Texas boy. The lakes and the treeline arounf them look very similar...
