I think it looks fine the way it is; unless to plan to offroad it. Something I wouldn't do with mine. but if you do plane to off-road it, you might want to add the roof light bar, and the fog lights. Of course it all depends on your tastes.

Those would look pretty cool on there. Can you mount both the yellow light bar and the white fog lights? Would the yellow ones look silly on a vehicle that is not big enough to require them. Would it look like I am trying to hard to be a big guy?

in theory, you could mount anything that you want, with enough work...

Yeah, you can mount both. I have the roof mounted light bar at the top and the fog lights at the front mounted on the brush guard. It gives it a meaner look. I'll post a pic later on, so you can get an idea.

redwood66, please say you're going to offroad it we had a new H3 on our run last weekend, awesome little truck (little only when next to the bus). stock from the dealer, adv. package. all we did was take off the step rails to keep them in one piece. this thing went everywhere we did, got hung up once, but a few rocks under the rear wheels got it through. the only complaint i can think of is the way the shock towers and leaf springs are mounted below the rear axle. if they had been above, there wouldn't have been an issue. this is what your h3 is made for, make it earn it's rep.

Nice to hear Shortbus! Nice picture. Looks like fun and I can't wait, our dealership is sponsoring a run to Odessa, WA in a couple weeks. They'll have techs there to take off the steps. My kids are so stoked to go. Of course we'll take it offroad - My hubby thinks he's gonna take it elk hunting. I have news for him, offroading does not include brush busting. We can do streams, rocks, riverbeds, dirt roads, etc. but not brush. Paint will look like crap after that, especially black. It still has to look good going down the highway too.

the good thing about your H3 is that it will fit all the jeep trails, so scratches will stay at a minimum. I don't think the one on our trip got any on it that couldn't be rubbed out by hand. but still, a few minor battle scars add character, as long as they don't go down to the primer. these trails were tight for me and the H1s, but the 3 made it no problem. here's a sample of one of the squeezes. i think elk hunting would be the perfect use for it.

My dealership told me how wonderful these trucks are off road! After signing all the paper work he pointed out....."Now , if anything breaks while off roading its not covered under warrenty!".

Hey, Shortbus, is that your H2? Looks real nice with those lights and especially that winch. And you rally got guts to off road it. My hat's off to you!

yep, that's my bus, thanks for the compliments. the lights were on it when i bought it, but not the winch. got the winch after i needed 2 toyotas to pull my heavy butt outta the mud. once the skidplate gets sucked into the muck, the suction won't let you out. can't wait 'til it starts raining again to see how the new tires do in that stuff. that pic was one of the tight spots on the trail, there were some others that i had to use the austin powers' back and forth to get the right angle. those are the areas where the H3 size comes in handy.

thanks, the tires are real quiet too, which was a surprise. they're rougly equivalent to the BFG M/T for tread pattern, but cheaper. i went from 35x12.50 to 37x13.50, the extra inch of clearance alone is worth it. i think the black rims make them look all that much better.

trying to talk the wife into letting me put about a 1" black pinstripe down each side, make it look even more like a shortbus. she's not buyin' it. . . .
