engine shut down

gatorman -> engine shut down (10/16/2006 3:27:16 PM)

My daughter was driving our H3 down the highway and the engine shut off. She was able to get the vehicle off the road without power. She was able to restart the engine and continue to her destination. I took the vehicle to local hummer dealer who could not find anything wrong with vehicle on their computer. I am really concerned about this happening again and possibly causing a accident. Has this happened to anyone? Any suggestions on what caused this?
Thanks

First thing that flashed across my mind..Was water in the fuel..Not much, but enough to cause it to die and by the time it stopped it was all cleared out..Throw a can of HEET in for good measure.

Abrupt engine shut off is sometimes the result of defective electric circuits linked to the engine.

I had the same problem with my H3. I took it to the dealer and they could not find any thing wrong. The dealer ended up giving my a new H3.

Huh. My dealer never finds, sees, or finds any problems either.
