Jmm -> multimedia installation (10/12/2006 2:15:26 PM)

I intend to get ride of the standard radio on the H3 and have it replaced by a multimedia station PIONEER AVIC HD 1 BT + CAMERA ND BC1.

it does everything ( except fried eggs)
GPS
dvd/cd/mp3
bluetooth
video camera (reversing)
even... radio

it has an 30mb hard disk and its possible to record upto 300 cd's in a 10mb partition.

I will post photos of the installed product (they do it on the 10/23/06) but in the meantime I wonder if any of you guys have any experience with this system or have it already installed in your ride.

I cant wait!! This is EXACTLY what I want to do to mine!!!! be sure to post pics of how the camera is mounted...I was curious since the plastic bumper is kinda flimsy and the rest is all metal

Did I mention I want to be your new best friend Jmm? [:D] That is going to be awsome. Just don't do what I did, it's a little dangerous:

hi,

apparently they are not going to mount it on the bumper.
it's glued on the rear door window below the stop light. the camera angle is 120°x90° so it should provide a perfect rear view.

hey, HG! how life in THE FIRM

Actually the original radio will be totally removed and the screen will be inserted in the void with all the controls behind it
this this an example

When people ask me this, I say "I'm JUST the computer guy" [:D] It keeps me out of trouble because of the things I REALLY know.

I grew up without a father, and never met him, so you better watch it, Dad(s) [:D][:D]

Or, you can feel sympathy for the fact I grew up in a house with my grandmother, sister and mother, fighting 24/7 for 20 years, until my mother moved out, and my sister went into the Navy. How I turned out OK is still beyond me!

Dennis -> RE: multimedia installation (10/12/2006 11:04:02 PM)

Sorry about that for you..who would've known?

But I agree, that's way too much estrogen under one roof.[&:][:D]

GHummer -> RE: multimedia installation (10/12/2006 11:04:08 PM)

The original unit is kind of rounded on the top and bottom. Does the after market unit leave a gap on these two spots? How did you handle this issue?

Jmm -> RE: multimedia installation (10/13/2006 5:41:35 AM)

they are adding a black plastic cover to take care of the problem.
you can see that on the WV dashboard.

Oh Please. 51 is still young to me. When you turn 80, then you need to start worrying [:D]

Ghostrider -> RE: multimedia installation (11/4/2006 10:45:28 AM)

Did you ever get this installed?
Got pics???
I'm really thinking about pulling the trigger and getting one for myself.

EDIT: Nevermind...I found you made a new thread for it! VERY nice...I might be sold.

JM -> RE: multimedia installation (11/6/2006 8:37:14 AM)

Go for it! the more I use it the More I like it.

I am amazed with all the various possibilities I am discovering, and the look on the dashboard is mind blowing!!

I paid 3500€ installed for the system including two PIONEER headrest 9'' video screen.

except if you're a semi professional DON'T try to install it yourself.[:-]
