Code keeps coming up P0251 and P0370 I am sure I am not the only one who has this issue No major smoke during startups, actually seems normal. When I clear the codes it sometimes runs like normal with no codes thrown then sometimes it will advance timing and the codes kick on. Some fixes I did: Change Oil Replaced Oil Pressure switch Drain Fuel bowl purged air replaced PMD replaced lift pump Is there something I am missing?  I already ordered another Injection Pump but want to exhaust my options before I do the work. < Message edited by doan866 -- 11/6/2008 1:57:19 PM > Post #: 1 RE: P0251 most of the time and P0370 - 11/6/2008 7:24:19 PM    phazer42   Posts: 179 Joined: 4/29/2008 Status: offline P0251 = Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control A (Cam/Rotor/Injector) P0370 = Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Sounds to be a problem with the Injector Pump.... Take a look at the diagnostic steps listed in the pictures attached.... they should help youtroubleshoot.  Also, get yourself a service CD :-) and visit the HML!! Here it is.... and no, this isn''''t a real common failure.... This ensures that fault is active while performing this test. 1. Maintain the engine speed at the point of failure, per the conditions saved in the Freeze Frame/Failure Records. 2. With the DVOM on the Hertz scale, back probe the high resolution signal circuit at the PCM.
