Hoping for a little help here. HVAC fan went out and I found the replacement motor at NAPA for about $30 which seems to work fine after (using the stock squirrel cage of course due to reverse pitch of blades) except that only the first 3 speeds work and the 4th high speed doesn''t work. has anyone encountered this and if so, any advice on how to solve the problem. If it were the resistor, I would suspect the low speeds to go out first. Help?

in the engine compartment at the front of dash between the engine and the aircleaner there is a thick red wire (12ga) going to a fuse holder mounted to the front of dash.... this fuse is blown.... the biggeer question is.... why did it blow?! you will likely be able to just replace the fuse and be set for a while.....

Nice! That was the ticket. The 30 amp on that red wire was blown. Now it is fixed. I guess I didn''t think to check the manual to know that the fuse was different for high fan. Incidentally it appears to be a 14 ga Anyway, not sure why it blew. probably when I replaced the AC compressor recently. In any case, we''ll see if it continues to hold. Sometimes fuses just blow, random surge or whatever, and hopefully that''s all there is to it. THANKS Phazer42!
