I think you are mistaken.
What 5-speed automatic do you "know" was offered in the 6.5l diesel Suburban, and in what year?
To my knowledge they offered 3 and 4 speed automatics, and a 5-speed MANUAL transmission.
In the Suburban the 4-speed 4L80E was the "latest and greatest" automatic transmission offered with the 6.5l diesel motor; same as in the H1.
BTW, why would you want a 5-speed auto in an H1? Do you feel that the gears are too far apart for optimal shifting?
