OK I purchased my 2006 H3 back in May of last year. Since getting it I have had it in the dealer 4 times because the service 4wd light keeps coming on. This last time they replaced the rear locking actuator and left rear carrier bearings. For this I took it in yesterday and they gave me an 08 until mine was ready today. Anyways, both were pretty much the same as they both have the adventure package and cloth and all. However I thought the 08 rode much more rough than my 06 and the engine though it had a little more power seemed to be more jerky at accelerating. Is this normal for the 08? This loner only had 15000 miles on it so I figured it would be like new driving it, but I could not wait to get mine back. Also I looked under the hood and it looked pretty much the same except the 08 has a seperate hose coming from the air filter straight down to something else, does anybody know what that was?

The ride could just be dictated by tire pressure. I run at 36 psi and its a heck of a lot more jarring than 30 psi. Could be different tires as well, especially if you''ve replaced yours. I''ve got an 3.7L but an 07, not 08, and I don''t have any jerky acceleration. (Only jerk is on the inside ). Maybe just bad example.

Hey, if your 06 was better than this 08, I''d simply go home happy knowing that I had it good.

Absolutely, I am very happy with mine. I was just wondering because My wife now wants one of her own. The acceleration seemed to hesitate when you stepped on it from the line. Mine as soon as I stem pn the gas it goes, but this one had a little delay. Overall it was still a hummer and I would definatelly get another one any day, I was just wondering if this was normal or if it was just this one. Believe me, I could never let something as little as the things I noticed with the rental keep me from getting another hummer...

My 07 seems to "think" for a split second when I mash on the gas (pulling out in traffic for example).  It drives me nuts and I have been blaming it on the electronic gas pedal.  Maybe the 06 has a cable controlled accelerator.  Just an idea?

Accelerator works by wire electronically, no cable.
It does take a split second for the throttle possition sensor to get it and then tell the PCM to send the GO signal to everything.

They did make a change to steering geometry for the 2008s, but that would not account for ride, probably tires/tire pressure?
