I have a 1996 H1 Hummer that has a non-turbo diesel engine with a non electronic fuel injection system. When I start the truck, it doesn''t start easily and when it finally starts, it''ll stay on for about a minute and then shut off abruptly. When I try a second and third time, it will not start. I need to wait for awhile before trying a fourth time, when it finally starts and stays on. Somebody had suggested I had an air bubble in the fuel line and so I ran the fuel pump and let some gas out to clear any air bubbles. The H1 started up fine and didn''t shut off right away, but a couple of days later, it goes back to starting/shutting off. Does anyone have an idea what this problem may be? I''d appreciate any help!

You may have a bad fuel line or fitting. I assume that the fuel filter has been changed recently.
