On my local TV stations they are running Hummer H3 commercials.  They show a Hummer going offroad in the mountains rockcrawling....etc.  There is one frame that I find sort of strange.  They show a H3 climbing rocks with one of the front wheels at least 3''-4'' in the air.  It does look cool but for true off roaders that is a total disaster.  Are they trying to show how little articulation the H3 has to offer?  Tires off the ground= no traction.  Just an observation!

I guess we can''t offroad in our H3s then since they don''t have the articulation of Jeep with a $3000 Rubicon Express lift. I''m often getting one or two (opposite) wheels in the air. Is it ideal for traction? Of course not. But it''s also showing how the Hummer traction control works and that you can still get over obstacles with a wheel in the air.

Calling it a disaster might be a bit of an overstatement. I''m no worse for wear when I get a tire a foot or more off the ground. H1s lift wheels as well and I don''t recall those being called total disasters.

I''d post pics but after ten tries on this friggin'' website I''m giving up.

did I mention ?

I love it when someone says I''m right, especially since it happens so rarely.

Try off roading over rocks and keeping every tire on the ground at all times, the ad is showing you that the Hummer has the power to get thru it even at any angle.
