I don''t want to give up my H3 but I''m looking for ways to increase my MPG.

So far I added a less restrictive CAI, Better flowing Billy Boat exhaust and a tuned PCM.
I''ve also altered my driving.  I''m driving less and when I do I act like I have an egg between my foot and the gas pedal.  When my tires wear out I''m thinking about undersizing the tire one width for a smaller foot print.  Add about 5 more pounds of air pressure.

Anybody else have other ideas?

Go buy yourself a ScanGauge. This was the biggest help to me. I keep the MPG on the screen and keep a close eye on it. I found that my sweet-spot for MPG is about 63 MPH, but in town it is 43 (in fourth gear).

Besides, This is a great way to add a water temp and volt meter along with a way to read fault codes from the computer. Well worth the money.

Here is how they look installed in an H3: LINKY

cbetts, your sweet-spot is what I have found also.  I''m getting amazing highway mileage keeping it 65 and under.  All I have done is do the PCMforLess tune, the AirDoc air intake and switched my entire drivetrain to full synthetic.  Just doing those things, I get 375 to 400 Miles per tank before I have to refill.

My job is almost 30 miles from home.  My wife''s part-time job is 7 miles.  Her car gets 25-26 mpg on my round trip to work and back.  My H3 gets about 17.  Guess what I drive to work 3 or 4 days a week?

I have been getting way better gas mileage due to the summer blend of gasoline.  My truck went from giving me 14-15mpgs to now a soild 18.5mpg.  No change in driving habits either.  I may hit 80mph at times on the freeway (passing someone) but I usually keep it between 65-70mph.  No PCM tune here.

I''m using Mobile 1 10W-30.  Is that what you are using?

I keep my 33" BFG AT KO tires at 50 PSI. When I am behaving I get a little less than 400 miles per tank. Then my friend told me that I should take the cover off of my air filter box because I have the cool K&N filter. He told me that if I took it off I would have more power.

Problem is that it seems to have a burst of power when that interesting sound comes out from under the hood. Now that I have been enjoying myself with a faster acceleration I have lowered down to about 350 miles per tank.

I just have to avoid temptation.

I''m thinking about getting a cat back exhaust. I heard that they sound great and add a bit more power too.

my tip... from experience....

interstate driving: From tampa to ft lauderdale

cruise at 70mph- took a tank and a quarter (approx) to get there.

cruise at 60mph on the way back- had a quarter of a tank left over..

on the way there.. had empty trailer... way back had a motorcycle on trailer.

significant difference in different interstate speeds.
