Hi guys, I apologize if this has already been asked but I couldn''t figure out how to search the forums. I just bought an H3 Alpha, drove it for a couple weeks and checked the tire pressure. The tires state the max air is 44 which is what I put in but shortly after filling them I noticed a factory sticker on the door which said the correct pressure is 31 which is what they were filled to before I started fooling around. What is the correct pressure? It seems like 44 would be better for mpg but I don''t want to mess up the tires.

One more question - how do you search the forums??

Thanks!

Paul

Recommended tire pressure is on a sticker inside the drivers door jamb. That''s the pressure the dealer will set when you have service. I think it''s around 35psi depending on your tire size, 32 or 33". 44psi will probably set the tpm system alert on the dash for overinflation.

For the 33s the H3 door jamb sticker says 35psi.  I run my H3 with the 33s at exactly 38psi cold for on road driving.

I''m at 38 as well, a bit above the mfr. recommendation. Do not inflate them to the max PSI on the sidewall (not that you would, I''ve just seen it done before).

Thanks for the tip - why not inflate based on what''s on the tires? (I did!)

Thanks - Paul

put the pressure from the drivers door sticker. i would explain why but every time i have tried on this forum it times me out. it has to do with the performance of the hummer and the tire ware.

I''m at 44psi trying to get some mileage out the H3....and don''t care about tire life...it''s a lease.
